The Start of My Photography Journey

Though I've always loved photography, I didn't really find true passion for it until March of 2020 when I was forced completely out of work. Working in a mostly cash and carry business, once everything shut down, I had to find something to occupy my time to help keep my mind off of a now uncertain and possibly difficult financial future. My wife pushed me to keep shooting after she saw the first several dozen photos I had taken with a Nikon entry level DSLR with 18-55 and 55-200 kit lenses. Sitting in my back yard, I sat everyday learning settings and how to capture small animals on the ground and small birds in flight. What had become ordinary and common to the eye, living in the desert, quickly defined itself as curiously fascinating and captivating, revealing a combination of elegance, athleticism, grace and beauty in an otherwise overlooked and taken for granted part of the eco-system. Thus, my desire to study, learn, and chronicle my adventures began... Captured through the lens of a camera.
